My Story
My journey in golf began at age 9 when my uncle gave me a cut-down 4-wood and taught me the game at Mallard Cove Golf Course. What started as a simple introduction quickly became a lifelong pursuit of mastery.
At 20 years old, I made a decision that would shape my future—I gave myself eight months to become a scratch golfer before my 21st birthday. I achieved that goal, and I’ve maintained that level of play ever since.
I began my professional career as an assistant professional at Pine Shadows Golf Course, where I developed a strong foundation in both playing and teaching the game. From there, I competed on mini tours and spent time working in Florida, learning from some of the game’s top instructors. That experience exposed me to a wide range of teaching philosophies and helped me develop a deeper, more complete understanding of the golf swing.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve combined that knowledge with my background as an educator to create a coaching approach that is both simple and highly effective. I specialize in helping golfers understand why they do what they do—and more importantly, how to fix it.
Let me take my passion for teaching and golf and help you improve your game.
Technology
I believe technology plays a role in the teaching process but is not the holy grail of golf teaching. I use the following technology, as necessary, to ensure you get the correct information that you need for a good lesson.
- OnForm Video Capture
- Bushnell Launch Pro launch monitor
- TPI Screening Software
